About Gwen

Feminist, comedian, writer– she wrote that list of nouns! Recently, her writing has been making the rounds on the internet, in places like McSweeney’s, Reductress, Humorous HQ Newsletter, and Modern Love. Gwen’s pieces have been called “genuinely upsetting” which she genuinely loves.

Her one-woman show, Sad Girl Songs: A Comedy Show, has garnered numerous awards and critical acclaim including artistic risk honoree at the 2022 Vancouver Fringe, The Jenny Award for Best Musical at the 2023 Winnipeg Fringe, The Producer’s Award at the 2024 Elgin Fringe. Sad Girl Songs has been lauded as “Whip-smart” (Free Press, ⭐⭐⭐⭐1/2) “Hilarious and Harrowing” (Orlando Weekly) and “One that will have you thinking long past it” (Edmonton Journal.) In 2024 she co-wrote Who’s Afraid of The West Cherry Orchard: A Classic American Play Set in an Active Quiznos, a satirical slapstick that won both Fringe Buzz and Critics Choice at the Orlando International Fringe Festival. She was Brava For Women In the Arts Theater’s Funniest Mami 2021.

Gwen runs GC Entertainment, a company that offers fun, progressive, interactive events to help groups connect. She collaborated with WGBH Boston to create Chatsterpiece, a live-streamed improvised murder mystery, and produced a monthly comedy show for Boston Children’s Hospital’s Seacrest Studios. During quarantine, Gwen co-hosted and produced The Baking Bash, an online comedy baking show that raised awareness and funds for businesses doing good for their communities. 

Gwen performed for years as a lead in the ImprovBoston National Touring Company, and produced ImprovBoston’s Musical Comedy Night. She has trained with Johnny Kuntz, Susan Messing, Rachael Mason, Michael F. Toomey at institutions including The Second City’s Advanced Longform program and Shakespeare & Company. She has a Masters degree in vocal pedagogy from The Boston Conservatory.
